Whipping It Up with the OXO Egg Beater
It’s been a while since Turner Williams invented the first hand beater in 1870 and was awarded U.S. Patent 103,811. Since then, not many changes have been made to the design. But similar to our approach to the Swivel Peeler which had the same design for decades, we just couldn’t resist the opportunity to improve upon a classic.
After many iterations with a focus on making an egg beater that has the smoothest gear mechanism (it literally feels effortless), removable beaters for easy cleaning, and handles that are nonslip and designed to be held comfortably and securely, we finally hit upon the right blend. Introducing the OXO Egg Beater. It’s as fun to use as it is effective at beating eggs, whipped cream, light batters and more. Perfect for everyday cooking and for getting kids involved in the kitchen.
Would you like to take it for a spin? Just leave a comment at the bottom of this post with a link to your blog and how we can contact you. If selected, you’ll receive two Beaters, one to use and talk about on your blog and one to give away to your readers. Multiple bloggers will be selected to participate!

I would love to take it for a spin. I have never had an egg beater. I always think of egg beaters as squeaky things that pinch fingers. I am guessing this isn’t the case with all egg beaters, just the one my grandmother had. I think it scared me and that is why I have never tried one.
November 15th, 2011 at 5:23 pm
I’d be interested. I am awful at whisking my eggs thoroughly!

My mom had a old school egg beater — a bit like the one you have pictured above but almost completely steel. As a kid, it was the most unique tool in the kitchen and made the most delicious foods: pastries!

You had me at “whipped cream”! Seriously, at first the name threw me and I wondered … “Hmmm… I don’t know about making drawer space for something that only beats eggs? I wonder if I could make whipped cream with it?”
I’d love to do a review of this! Better yet, my 6 year old daughter/baking protege will also give it a spin and we’ll report back based on our “family friendly” experience!
I am signed up for the Oxo “Cookies for Kids” spatula review and giveaway … this would be a nice follow up and compliment piece on my blog.

November 15th, 2011 at 5:40 pm
I’m very curious about this. So many options for mixing it up in the kitchen – but often the stand mixer is too much for a smaller job – and the stick blender isn’t right either. Egg Beater. So old-fashioned, yet perhaps so right. I’d be happy to give it a whirl!
November 15th, 2011 at 5:40 pm
Thank you for the opportunity to try out the egg beater. However, I’ve already tried it out – I participated in your Tastemaker Program via Foodbuzz and loved it! Here’s a link to my post in case you haven’t seen it: http://mybakingheart.com/2011/10/19/vanilla-sugar-ghost-cookies-with-oxo/

November 15th, 2011 at 5:44 pm
I would love to try the egg beater. I so dislike running out of forks for dinner because I’ve used so many to beat eggs! I love that the beaters can be removed for cleaning. I’m so curious about this new products!

Sorry if I’m posting twice! Didn’t see my comment show up. This looks like a great new product for a quick beat, whip or mix. It brings me back to my childhood days when that’s the only kind of beater we had. Sometimes it’s too much effort to dirty the big stand mixer for a simple mix. So, I’d love to try it. I love everything OXO.

We don’t eat eggs, but I can easily think of some great things to whip up with the egg beater! Would love to try!
November 15th, 2011 at 7:48 pm
I would LOVE to try this, as I think it would become an essential in my kitchen. It’s such a hassle to get out the Kitchen Aid for smaller tasks, and this would whip eggs for scrambled eggs faster and better than a whisk. I hope you pick my blog to feature this great OXO product!!
November 15th, 2011 at 7:52 pm
I would be happy to try it out. It looks like it would work well with homemade dressing, too. Thanks!

This would be so spectacularly awesome to review since I havent had a working electric hand blender in years . In fact I used the old fashioned remake of this type of blender when I make cupcakes cause its easier than dragging out a processor & to have removable beaters would be dreamy!please pick me!!!
November 15th, 2011 at 9:33 pm

Hey, that used to be my favorite kitchen toy when I was a kid! (Of course, Mom’s wasn’t nearly as cool. And I also used to use it to make bubbles in the bathtub. Don’t tell my mother.) I’d love to give that tool another try so I have something more powerful than a whisk, but I don’t always have to drag out my mixer.
November 15th, 2011 at 10:19 pm
We go through 2 dozen eggs/week in our house! I’ve resorted to using an immersion blender to get the eggs completely blended for scrambled eggs. I would love to try an OXO Egg Beater!
November 15th, 2011 at 10:22 pm
As my blog and whole mantra is about getting kids involved in healthy cooking, I would LOVE to try this out and introduce to my readers! My kids are horrid at beating eggs but always eager to try new toys. I think this could be a great tool for parents cooking with little helpers.
November 15th, 2011 at 10:27 pm

Neato! I like to make single servings of cookie dough for a quick sweet treat, but hate having to get out the beater. This would be the perfect solution!
November 15th, 2011 at 10:31 pm
I would love to test these with my kids over the holidays. We usually do a lot of holiday baking together but the beaters I use are electric and I don’t feel comfortable letting my younger kids use them. I’d love to let them give these a whirl though! I can be contacted at kelliebowling at ymail dot com.

I would be thrilled to review the new egg beater on my blog! I grew up using my mom’s old egg beater and loved it so much that when I moved out I picked one up at a flee market. It fell apart when I was using it and I’ve never gotten one since, but I’ve often wished I had one! Sometimes it’s just not worth pulling out the stand mixer but the job’s a little too big to do it all by hand. I’m so glad that OXO has made a new and improved egg beater!

I would love to try these out as part of my Christmas baking blog post lineup. They look perfect for whipping up small amounts of eggs and whipping cream where you don’t want to haul out the stand mixer, and the old hand-whisk just won’t cut it!

This would come in handy anytime…I use/eat lots of eggs. I played with this at the Foodbuzz Festival and loved the easiness of it. Nice design!

I would love to give this egg beater a whirl! I go through a lot of eggs each week, and this looks like it would be really handy!

I would love to try out the egg beater and host a giveaway. Eggs are my VERY favorite food (omelets and benedicts and meringues…oh my!) and my birthday is in mid-December, so a giveaway would be a great way to celebrate!

I’ve often considered adding a beater to my stash of gadgets. I bake a lot in the evenings, and I’ve been known to forgo the stand mixer AND the hand mixer in the interest of not waking the little ones. I’ve even shopped for vintage beaters, but not yet found one that seems to be in good operating condition. So I’d certainly be interested.

With all the holiday cooking in my house, I would love to try the egg beaters. The kids try to beat eggs with a fork, but they could definitely use a little help.
Thanks for the opportunity.

I’d love to test these beaters out! As a professional baker, a whisk like attachment is essential.
November 16th, 2011 at 5:55 pm
I have fond memories of my Grandma in her kitchen using her old clunky egg beater to make desserts and souffles. I’ll have to look for this beater in the stores!

Oooh! We love kitchen tools! We’d love to feature one of these lovelies in a Monday Munchies post.

I would LOVE to try these egg beaters! To say that I enjoy a good hand tool is an understatement, just ask my husband. I’ve been known to build a rabbit house the size of a small dog house with nothing but a rusty old hand saw and 100 year old hammer. There is just something about doing things with the simplest of tools that gets me going. I would also love to have something like this to use instead of digging through drawers and cupboards trying to find my mixer and the beaters (which are never kept together, in any house). Thanks for the opportunity, I love that you guys revamped this tool!

I’d love to test this out with egg whites for meringues and macarons on my blog. I love your other products, especially the liquid measuring cup that can be read from above instead of eye-level! It saves me so much time in the kitchen

I own an egg beater from the 1870s and it works great. I’d love to give the new Oxo egg beater a whirl to see how it compares.

I would love to try out an egg beater on my blog. I think it would be a great tool to dabble with, esp now that I’m cooking more homemade items since I am newly married.

I’d love to take this for a spin, making Sunday Morning Buttermilk Pancakes!

I made pudding the other day; 5 minutes of wisking with a standard wisk is painful for me. I have tendonitis and an overactive nerve in my arm. The OXO Wisk would be a great alternative!

I love your products. I have 2 of the salad spinners and the whisks are the beat! I scan imagine that the new egg beater is a level higher and better.
I would be honored to blog about it on FoodSciGuy.
