Blogger Outreach Participation Requirements:

To participate in this program, you must be 18 years or older and reside in the 50 United States or D.C.. Please note that we are unable to ship materials to PO Boxes. Further, each participant in the program understands and agrees that no compensation shall be paid for any evaluation(s), blog post(s) and/or OXO’s use of the same, apart from the product(s) given for evaluation. By accepting the OXO products for evaluation, you agree to comply with these Guidelines and Regulations, as currently written and as may be updated by OXO at its sole discretion, and to comply with any and all guidelines promulgated by the FTC or any other applicable governing body. If you cannot or will not comply with these Guidelines and Regulations or any other applicable guidelines, you must immediately return any product given to you by OXO and cease all activities on behalf of OXO.

How We Select Blogs to Partner With:

Blogs are carefully reviewed before we partner on any project because everything we do together should reflect both of our brands positively. There is not a clear-cut formula for how blogs are selected but the following aspects are all taken into consideration:

Will the product be a good fit?

It is important that the product we are sampling makes sense in relation to your content. We don’t want to confuse your readers. If you decide to talk about OXO, we hope that it fits in organically with your content and doesn’t seem overtly promotional.

Photography:

While we do not expect or require a specific type of photography, we strongly appreciate large and visually appealing photos. Because our tools are often part of the process of cooking, it helps if you include photos of the steps you take to create a dish (if you are a food blogger).  By accepting OXO products from us and as consideration for those products, you agree that OXO has the perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable right to use, publish, distribute, and copy any photos of OXO products that appear on your blog for OXO’s publication on OXO’s website, in OXO sponsored emails, or on any of OXO’s social media outlets.  OXO with give proper attribution to you whenever it uses the photos.

Writing Style and Posts:

We are looking for blogs that have a strong, unique and respectful voice. We look at your writing style to see if it is a good match with OXO. We put a lot of time and effort in to everything we produce and we hope that you do the same in your writing. This comes across best with correct grammar and a generally positive writing style.

By accepting OXO products from us and as consideration for those products, you agree that OXO has the perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable right to use, publish, distribute, translate, and copy any of your blog posts for OXO’s publication on OXO’s website or any of OXO’s social media outlets.

Interactions:

Do you have engaged readers? Do you interact with them when they leave comments on your blog posts (or Facebook or Twitter profiles if that is where you interact most with your readers)? These are all questions we are asking ourselves when looking at blogs.

Size:

We work with blogs of all sizes. While we will never disqualify a blog because it is too small, it does help us organize our efforts when we can estimate the number of views a campaign will have. This is only one of the many factors we look at when selecting blogs and it should not discourage anyone from reaching out to work with us.

When we partner with a blog, we look to do just that, create a partnership! We are looking to develop lasting relationships that are beneficial to both of us. We like to help bloggers by promoting their work when it is of high quality and reflects both of our brands positively. Stop by our Facebook pages or check out our Pinterest boards or Twitter streams to see how we have promoted some of the blogs that have created rich content that will be of interest to our consumers. Each month we also feature one or two top blog posts in our consumer emails and we are always looking for new and creative ways to promote the blogs that we work with closely.

What We Expect From You:

We require each blogger to whom we send OXO products to comply with the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) updated Endorsement & Testimonial Guidelines. These provide a basis for disclosure of relationships between advertisers and endorsers. The FTC guidelines, inter alia, require that you:

(1) Clearly and conspicuously disclose within each of your posts that you received product and/or compensation from OXO. This can be as simple as stating “OXO gave me this product sample…” or “I am working with the people at OXO and they sent me this product sample…”

(2) If you post on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, or any other social media channel, you must follow each statement with a disclosure hashtag, such as #ad or #sponsored, to indicate that you received something of value from OXO. Alternatively, you may include a disclosure in the post (“OXO gave me a free sample…”) and then link to blog posting for more details.

(3) You must speak from your honest, personal experience.

(4) If you discuss specific product claims of benefits, you must first consult with OXO to ensure that you are making only claims consistent with OXO’s approved materials.
